BMLMHC,Inc. has coordinated and participated in local BCWOP events over several years. Events have included preaching and prayer led by African American clergy from local churches (some pictured above). During the 2005 event, Rev. Arthur Boyd-- CEO of GROUP Ministries, Inc., Buffalo, New York-- was the keynote speaker. He spoke at the collaborative service held at Elim Christian Fellowship. During his sermon Rev. Boyd used the 'C' word (condom) stating that "...individuals who are promiscuous and who do not use condoms during sex is perpetuating HIV/AIDS in the Black community."

BCWOP is modeled after the ground-breaking Harlem Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS established in 1989 by Pernessa C. Seele, CEO of the Balm in Gilead. BCWOP has become the largest AIDS Awareness campaign in the United States targeting the Black Community and expands to reach people in the Caribbean and Africa.  Local events for August of this year and 2007 are in planning stages.
